For a few summers, I worked construction on Cape Cod. I loved working with my hands and working as a team. I loved understanding the blueprint and watching beautiful spaces come to life. This experience led me to want to study Industrial Design.
Now that I am studying ID at Massart, I realize that my favorite part of the process is understanding people’s challenges and designing holistic solutions that include product experiences, packaging, and messaging. I am known for having a unique take on assignments and delivering ideas that delight classmates and professors.
This spring I had the opportunity to lead a team of designers and engineers from MIT to design and prototype a mobile stretcher for underdeveloped communities. Like my construction days, I found that I love to do work that is impactful to people and communities. And that I am at my best when I am contributing to and leading a team of people who are delivering something that none of us could accomplish alone.
I am currently working for an Invention company where I design customer research and validation programs to support new ideas. I am looking for career opportunities where I could continue to learn to apply human-centered design within a strong team culture.
